About the Role

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building strong relationships with local authorities, healthcare professionals, commissioners, referral partners, and other stakeholders.

The successful candidate will play a key role in increasing referrals, improving occupancy, reducing service voids, supporting tender opportunities, and promoting Queensway Homes across the health and social care sector.

This role will involve networking, presentations, community engagement, online marketing, promotional activities, and identifying gaps in services to support the development of new care solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development and Growth

The successful candidate will:

Develop and implement business development strategies to increase referrals, occupancy, and revenue.

Identify opportunities for expansion and growth within supported living and social care services.

Research market trends and identify gaps in services to support business sustainability and growth.

Build and maintain strong relationships with local authorities, social workers, care coordinators, healthcare professionals, and commissioning teams.

Source new clients and placement opportunities for the organisation.

Develop partnerships with suppliers, stakeholders, and external organisations.

Attend meetings with potential suppliers and referral partners to strengthen business relationships.

Seek and apply for tenders, contracts, and framework opportunities.

Support the preparation and submission of tender documents and proposals.

Marketing and Brand Promotion

The successful candidate will:

Promote Queensway Homes through networking events, conferences, exhibitions, and community functions.

Represent the company professionally at public events and exhibitions.

Organise and manage promotional stands, information desks, and marketing displays at events.

Coordinate the development and distribution of flyers, brochures, and promotional materials.

Work alongside website and social media teams to improve online visibility and engagement.

Key Performance Indicators

The Business Development Manager will be measured against agreed performance targets, including:

Increasing occupancy and reducing service voids across supported living services.

Achieving monthly and quarterly referral targets.

Securing new client placements.

Generating revenue through new business opportunities.

Supporting successful tenders, contracts, and framework applications.

Developing new partnerships with local authorities and referral agencies.

Attending networking events, conferences, and community functions.

Delivering presentations to potential stakeholders and partners.

Increasing enquiries generated through marketing activities.

Supporting improvements in website and social media engagement.

Submitting tender applications on time.

Producing accurate and high-quality reports, proposals, and business development updates.

Person Specification

Essential Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

NVQ Level 3 or Level 5 in Health and Social Care, Leadership and Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience in business development within health and social care, supported living, domiciliary care, or a related sector.

Strong experience in sourcing clients, increasing occupancy, and reducing service voids.

Experience building relationships with local authorities, commissioners, and referral agencies.

Experience preparing or supporting tender applications.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and meet agreed targets.

Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office, email, and online systems.

A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.

Desirable Requirements

A Diploma or Degree in Business Management, Health and Social Care, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related discipline.

Knowledge of supported living regulations and the wider social care sector.

Experience in marketing, social media, or brand promotion.

An existing professional network within health and social care.

Understanding of CQC standards and local authority commissioning processes.
